About Me

Hello there! My name is Geza. I am an improvisation actor and trainer in Czech and English. I started improvising as a hobby in 2015. It was a love at first sight and I never got enough. I met great like-minded and crazy people, many of which became my best friend friends. We learnt from each other and had a ton of infectious FUN!

I enjoy several fun projects – music and improv – and you can find my schedule at geza.pro.

Improvising on stage

I have been performing with the improVykrik improvisation theater group since 2015 and I currently train the ensemble. Come and see us in action! (We perform in Czech).

Improvising off stage

Like many improvisers do, I eventually realized that I apply a lot of improvisation skills everywhere, especially at work. At Microsoft, I often joked that my job as a manager felt like running an improvised theater! This usually made people laugh, but little did they know I was actually serious about it. I used improvisation skills to adapt to the fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Many improv skills that work on stage, work off stage as well. Start with active listening, thinking on your feet, being ready to throw away your original agenda in a meeting and creatively create a new one – in the moment. Read the room, the body language presented unconsciously, the status games being played and adapt immediately to the “scene”. Adapt by adjusting your own presentation style, body posture, voice, status… I could go on forever on this.

So, what about you?

At the same time I continue to be surprised, how little awareness there is about improvisation and decided to do my bit about that. And there you are, reading these lines and thinking of joining (you joining = me joying, no joking!!)

Come and see what’s all the fuss about!
